Representative (Interdepartmental)
Department of Political and Social Science

All doctoral programmes at UPF have PhD student representatives. There are two categories: Departamental (working within the Department) and Interdepartmental (working with other Department representatives). They are elected by the members of the doctoral community (PhD Students enrolled in the PhD Programme) of the Department of Political and Social Science.

The main tasks carried out by the PhD student representatives are:

a) Liaison between the Department and the Student Body

The PhD student representatives are invited to attend the monthly meetings of the Academic Committee (AC) as observers. There they are expected to present any concerns from the PhD student body. Additionally, they will report any relevant information conveyed during the AC meetings to their colleagues in student meetings held monthly.

b) Event organisation

On behalf of their colleagues, the PhD student representatives are welcome to submit any suggestions to the Academic Committee or the PhD Programme Coordinator concerning the organization of doctoral courses or other academic activities. The PhD student representatives are also encouraged to organise social and scientific events for their fellow student colleagues.
