OTIS JOHNSON

I am embarking on a PhD under the supervision of Associate Professor John Palmer, focusing on the factors that affect the spread of mosquito borne diseases, as well as the implications of public policy decisions taken against them. During this time I will also serve as Part-Time Research Technician on public health related projects such as IDALERT, which provides a data-driven strategy for reducing vector-borne diseases spread, and Mosquito Alert, which harnesses citizen science in the fight against mosquito-borne disease.

My research portfolio spans quantitative, qualitative, mixed, and participatory methods, from topics pertaining to e-governance, critical social issues (such as social violence) and Business Process Optimization.

I hold a Research Masters degree in Political Science from Pompeu Fabra University (Spain), a MBA from the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom), and a BSc in Computing and Information Technology from the University of Technology (Jamaica).
