The Department welcomes visiting doctoral students who want to spend some time at UPF for reasons related to the development of their own PhD dissertation. Visiting students can participate in the department's seminars, present their research, and interact with our faculty.

It is recommended that the student agrees in advance to be mentored by a lecturer from the department during their stay, that they contact the student representatives to arrange a meeting to explain the dynamics and activities of the students, and that they arrange an initial introductory meeting with the PhD Programme Coordinator.

Our university will provide the student with access to the library and a shared workspace at the university library (individual workstations at our department are not available due to space limitations at the University).

If you are interested in a visit of this kind, please send the following documents to the following email address: [email protected]

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Passport or ID photocopy
  • A short description of the research and work plan to be carried out during your stay (maximum of 2 pages).
  • Proof of being registered in a PhD Programme (a letter signed by the supervisor or programme coordinator is sufficient).
  • Application form (this is where you will need to indicate the name of the tutor and the exact dates of the stay)

Research visits are subject to the approval of the programme's Academic Committee.
