Workshop on Thematic Publications

Workshop on Thematic Publications

24.03.2026

As a supplement to our PhD training, this year we will host the first of what we hope to be an annual series of workshops. These will present PhD students with publications on topics of general interest, from inception to publication. The workshops will examine topics from the disciplinary or methodological angles covered by our PhD programme.

The goals are to (a) learn about topics from different disciplinary and methodological perspectives; (b) address theoretical, conceptual, and data challenges; (c) learn specific indicators or statistical methods; (d) practise these methods; and (e) understand how reviewers; comments were addressed for publication.

Over three days, one paper per day, students will learn how a paper was conceived and its contribution to debates.

  • Mornings focus on theoretical approaches. For empirical research papers, students will be invited to replicate the analyses that generated the results.
  • Afternoons are practical, ending with reviewers’ comments and revisions, illustrating real-world success in publishing.

We encourage you to enrol!
