Clàudia Ferràndiz is a PhD candidate in the Political and Social Sciences Department at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), under the supervision of Dr. Juan Carlos Triviño-Salazar. Questions such as the increasing cultural diversity of European neighborhoods and cities, human mobility and the integration of migrants have guided her academic interests thus far. Her research focuses on immigrant civic engagement and organizing process. She aims to study how and why different immigrant groups organize and participate in civic activities.

She holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from UPF and a Master’s in International Relations from Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). She currently works as an intercultural project manager at Center for African and Intercultural Studies. Previously, she worked as a journalist for different local and national media and as a research assistant to Dr. Triviño-Salazar in projects related to the multilevel governance of immigration.

She is an activist in topics related to migrants and deeply engaged with the fight for their rights. In this endeavor, she has collaborated with several Barcelona-based organizations.
