Royal Decrees 822/2021 and 99/2011 require the degrees to be under the scope of an Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS). The Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) has designed a university-wide IQAS, the UPF IQAS, that englobes the management of the common processes for all Faculties, Departments, and Schools of the university. At the same time, each center has implemented a personalized IQAS based on the UPF IQAS.

The design of the UPF Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) for academic programs was certified in 2011. It adheres to AUDIT program guidelines and aligns with the degree verification protocol set by AQU and ANECA. Since then, the UPF Framework SGIC has been continually reviewed, enhanced, and expanded annually, functioning as a dynamic, ever-evolving system.
