Ten years of UPF's participation in the Industrial Doctorates Plan: a direct route to knowledge transfer

Over its ten rounds of applications (2013-2022), the Plan, initiated and supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, has provided funding for a total of 59 thesis projects linked to various different doctoral programmes at UPF. UPF, among the top 100 universities in the world for four disciplines, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023

The University stands out especially for Economics and Econometrics, achieving 26th in the world. Within the top 100, compared to last year, Accounting and Finance joins Politics and International Studies and Social Policy and Administration. In general terms, UPF ranks 86th for Social Sciences and Management and 178th for Arts and Humanities.

Research

New European research project, involving UPF, to investigate the effects of music on sleep

The European research project Lullabyte is driven by a consortium of 10 European universities and research centres, coordinated by the University of Dresden. The Music Technology Group (MTG) of the UPF Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) is a participant. Based on the results of the research, new products will be developed such as interactive headphones or music applications to sleep, adapted to the needs of each user.
