Functions

The deputy vice-rector to the rector shall, under the guidance of the rector, coordinate and supervise the following matters:

  • The act of governing, including the role of spokesperson.
  • The promotion of strategic and cross-disciplinary projects.
  • The strategy of the UPF Group and the coordination of the higher education centres affiliated to the University.

Curricula

Pablo ParejaPablo Pareja Alcaraz is a Serra Húnter senior lecturer in International Relations at the Department of Law, where he is a member of the Research Group in International Public Law and International Relations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences (UPF, 2001), and did his postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics (MSc in European Studies, 2002), the University of Georgetown (Master of Science in Foreign Service, 2004), and at UPF (Advanced Studies Diploma, 2007; European Doctor, 2010). His research focuses on the study of international order and cosmopolitan standards, international relations in East Asia, and the transformations of contemporary international security. He has participated in a dozen national and international competitive research projects, and has published some forty academic works, some of which in Mediterranean Quarterly, Energy Policy, Journal of International Studies or CIDOB Journal of International Affairs.&

Before assuming the position of vice-rector for Teaching and Research Staff on 6th March 2023, he held various management positions, including that of Assistant Vice-rector and for Teaching and Community Relations; that of Vice-rector for Teaching and Community Relations; that of Vice-rector responsible for Projects in the Faculty Area; rector’s commissioner for Student Relations; academic coordinator of the interuniversity master’s degree in International Relations and of the Erasmus Mundus master’s degree in Public Policy at the Barcelona Institute for International Studies; rector's delegate for student relations, and coordinator of teaching and international relations at the UPF Faculty of Law.

He was appointed by the rector on 18 October 2024 with effect from 21 October 2024.
