Functions
The Economic Area, headed by a deputy general manager, coordinates, promotes and evaluates the processes and actions related to the economy and budget, public procurement and management of the assets of the University. This Area directs and coordinates the Budget and Finance Service, the Infrastructure and Property Service and the Public Procurement Office.
Curricula
Born in Manacor (Balearic Islands) in 1966, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Economic Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1989), a master’s degree in Economic Analysis, also from the UAB (1991), and a PhD in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University (1996). During her doctoral stage, she taught at UPF on various bachelor’s degree programmes.
Between 1996 and 2004 she performed teaching and research tasks at ESCI-UPF. Between 2004 and 2005 she was director of Services and from 2005 to 2010, secretary-general of the Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia. From 2011 to November 2022, she continued working at ESCI-UPF as a professor, researcher and head of studies (2019-2022) of the bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing. Her areas of research focus on the labour market, complementary payment systems, and the evaluation of public policies.
From November 2022 to February 2025, she was director general of Personal Autonomy and Disability at the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Government of Catalonia.
She was appointed for the post by the rector on 12 February 2025.
