Outreach activities
ICT is entering a new phase where questions are shifting from the technology as such to its embedding in society,as several issues related to its use have the potential to affect cultural, ethical and social values. The faculty at DTIC actively engages with society via a variety of ongoing activities with the general public, the industry, professionals, schools, museums or art centers, in order to promote a scientific literate society, an interest in scientific and technical vocations, and a quick transmission to the public of latest advances in the ICT field.

Activities with schools and teachers

Sound Workshops
Workshops where participants learn to listen, think and work with the sound of our environment, through exercises and creative strategies. The project also emphasizes the dissemination and collaborative networking using and open licenses.

Escolab
From October 2014 to April 2015 EscoLab offers over 100 different proposals from researchers from 50 different laboratories or research departments. The activities consist of workshops and tours that show the diversity of laboratories that exist today and get in contact with their multidisciplinary teams and their research areas.

The Barcelona World Race
Is the first and only double-handed , non-stop, round the world regatta. It is a lap of the globe starting and finishing in Barcelona . This is an extreme sporting challenge and ocean adventure that puts human limits to the test.

Phonos Concerts and Grants
to promote cultural activities related to research in music technology. This initiative fosters that the results of research have a direct impact on the cultural and artistic world, encouraging innovation and the intersection between music and technology.

There: Bergen-Belsen, Echoes of Memory
A sound installation in the open passage way between documentation center and former camp site, Bergen-Belsen Memorial grounds, originally installed to commemorate the 60 year anniversary of the memorial in november 2012, and running permenently since.
