The VIII Joan Veny Grant, awarded by the Institut Ramon Muntaner (IRMU) with the support of the Language Policy Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, has been granted to Ivan Solivellas, who has presented the work Las percepciones lingüísticas en Alguer: una aproximación cualitativa (Linguistic perceptions in Alghero: a qualitative approach).

Ivan Solivellas, a graduate of the University of the Balearic Islands and has a master’s degree from the same university and from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, is a member of the IULATERM research group (Lexicon and Technology) of the Institute for Applied Linguistics at the UPF. He defended his doctoral thesis, Les partícules prefixals en català, on 14 July 2021 at the UPF, under the supervision of Judit Freixa. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Barcelona.
