Article 13 of Law 40/2015, of 1 October, on the legal rules governing the public sector, sets out the procedure for determining alternates in administrative bodies in the event of vacancy, absence or illness.

In accordance with Article 54 of the Statutes of Pompeu Fabra University, in the event the rector is absent or indisposed or the position is otherwise vacant, the vice-rector appointed by the rector shall assume her functions.

Whereas the rector shall be absent from Pompeu Fabra University during the period between 2 August and 1 September 2024, both inclusive, an alternate rector must be appointed to cover any situations that may arise.

Therefore, by virtue of Article 52 of the Statutes of Pompeu Fabra University,

I HEREBY DECIDE:

One: To appoint the vice-rector for Internationalisation, professor Helena Ramalhinho Dias Lourenço, to replace the rector in her duties from 2 August to 9 August 2024, both inclusive.

Two: To appoint the vice-rector for Knowledge Transfer, professor Vanesa Daza Fernández, to replace the rector in her duties from 10 August to 17 August 2024, both inclusive.

Three: To appoint the vice-rector for Research, professor Cristina Pujades Corbi, to replace the rector in her duties from 18 August to 25 August 2024, both inclusive.

Four: To appoint the vice-rector for Culture and Communication, professor Raquel Bouso Garcia, to replace the rector in her duties from 26 August to 1 September 2024, both inclusive.

Five: To establish that this arrangement must be expressly indicated in all resolutions and instruments issued during the period of substitution, specifying the holder of the office for which the alternate is required (rector) and the appointed alternate.
