Step 1. Get ready to complete your online registration!

Once you have been admitted to the program, you will receive an email with all the necessary information to prepare for your registration.

You can check the specific date, time, and required documentation for enrollment at https://www.upf.edu/web/matricula

During the enrollment process, you will see only one course selected: "First year of the Open Degree program" (60 ECTS).

Step 2. I already have a spot in the Open Degree program, and now I need to submit my motivation letter!

It is essential that you fill out the Motivation letter form. Based on the information provided in this letter, we will be able to assign you an academic tutor.

The deadline for submission is from July 13 to July 30, 2026.

 

Step 3. How do I build my academic itinerary? Attend the sessions to get help designing your itinerary

If you want to get a head start on planning your academic itinerary, check out how to create it, and we will answer your questions during the session.

On September 3rd, 2026, at 10:00 AM, you must connect to the online information session, where we will address any questions about building your academic itinerary. ACCESS THE SESSION

The deadline to submit your academic itinerary to [email protected] is September 7, 2026. Based on this information, your initial enrollment from July will be updated to include the specific courses from your academic itinerary.

Registration for the academic itinerary: September 10, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:59 PM (Secretariat support available until 2:30 PM).

Step 4. You are now a UPF student!... And we want to welcome you

We look forward to seeing you at the Open Degree welcoming session on September 14th at 9:00 AM. This will be an in-person event held in the sala Nau inside La Nau building at the Poblenou Campus

You will get to meet all the other students who are also starting the Open Degree program.

Step 5. I’m ready to start! When do my classes begin?

Classes begin on September 28th, depending on the schedule of the first-quarter courses included in your academic itinerary.

From September 14th to 18th various welcome sessions and orientation activities will be held for the different degrees.

 

Step 6. I have a few questions. When will I have my first tutorial with my advisor?

Your first tutorial will take place during the month of October. Together, you will assess the start of the academic year. Since you will have already attended classes for your various courses, you will be able to discuss the possibility or need to make changes to your academic itinerary for the quarter. You will also review schedules that were not available at the beginning of the term to check for any timetable conflicts and make course adjustments if necessary.
