Resumen:

El presente estudio analiza el discurso de cuatro ONG ecologistas con sede en España —Greenpeace, WWF, Amigos de la Tierra y Ecologistas en Acción—, desde 2004 a 2018, con respecto al negacionismo ideológico del cambio climático (la negación de la ideología antropocéntrica subyacente a la crisis climática, no solo sus causas antropogénicas). Mediante el análisis de frames y Análisis Crítico del Discurso de 1323 documentos, la investigación ofrece una perspectiva sobre el papel de estas ONG en relación con la inacción climática y en qué medida han contribuido a diseminar soluciones consistentes alineadas con las problemáticas detectadas por el Panel Intergubernamental del Cambio Climático (IPCC). Estas problemáticas son la dieta basada en animales, la sobrepoblación humana, el crecimiento económico y la tecnología como solución. Los resultados muestran que las ONG han perpetuado de forma implícita el negacionismo ideológico y contribuido a la inacción.

Abstract:

This study analyzes the discourses of four environmental NGOs based in Spain —Greenpeace, WWF, Amigos de la Tierra and Ecologistas en Acción—, from 2004 to 2018, regarding the ideological denial of climate change (the denial of the anthropocentric ideology underlying the climate crisis, not just its anthropogenic causes). Through the analysis of frames and a Critical Discourse Analysis of 1,323 documents, the present research offers a perspective on the role of these NGOs in relation to climate inaction and analyzes the extent to which they have contributed to disseminating consistent solutions aligned with the problems detected by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change —IPCC—.Such problems consist in meat-based diets , human overpopulation, economic growth, and the notion of technology as solution. The results show that those NGOs have implicitly perpetuated ideological denial and contributed to inaction.
