On 28th October 2020, THINKClima was invited to participate in the colloquium “Communicating climate emergency”, in the context of #WeDiscover Days Barcelona, a series of conferences about planetary wellbeing organized by Pompeu Fabra University. The event was sponsored by the EUTOPIA project, an alliance that brings together students from six European universities to discuss topics related to global challenges.
The participants in this colloquium were Tomàs Molina, Chief meteorologist at Televisió de Catalunya; Eloi Badia, Councilor for Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition of Barcelona at the Barcelona City Council; Jose A. Moreno, member of THINKClima, and Gemma Revuelta, director of the Studies Center on Science, Communication and Society (UPF) who moderated the roundtable. Each of the participants focused the climate change communication from their fieldworks. Jose A. Moreno explained the research made at THINKClima and stressed the importance of identifying climate change contrarian discourses that promote misleading debates in the media.
