- Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC)
A Catalan university founded in 1994. The goal of UOC is to provide the public with lifelong learning and educational opportunities to meet the educational needs of society and provide full access to knowledge, overcoming the regular hurdles entailed by traditional planning and space restrictions. The University promotes innovative education allowing for customized learning. It constitutes a spearhead in the field of technology and encourages relations and cooperative work, academic research on the information society and e-learning, along with knowledge dissemination.
- 4 Universities Alliance (A4U)
This alliance was set up in 2008 by four Spanish public universities, two from Barcelona: the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra University; and two from Madrid: the Autonomous University of Madrid and Carlos III University. All in all, the universities boast excellence in their scientific research results, outstanding academic quality indicators and a substantial commitment in terms of international outreach. The main goal of the alliance is to promote international academic excellence by carrying out joint actions on research projects, academic and international mobility of teaching and research staff, and international relations.

22@Barcelona is the largest urban, economic and social transformation project to be promoted by Barcelona in recent years.
Holding the mission of bringing a major overhaul to industrial areas transforming them into a magnet for business, scientific, technological and cultural activity, 22@Barcelona entails the conversion of 200 hectares of industrial land in the city centre into a zone with excellent infrastructure aimed at becoming a strategic hub for knowledge-based institutions and companies linked to five industries: the media, ICTs, MedTech, energy and design. Accordingly, the area around 22@Barcelona (Poblenou) is also known as the innovation district.
- 22@network Association
Established in 2004, the Association of 22@Barcelona Companies and Institutions is an initiative of civil society to actively participate in the process of developing and consolidating district 22@ as a dynamic area, that is both transformational and in the technological vanguard. The association is currently made up of 102 companies and is governed by a General Assembly and a board of directors.

- Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (Barcelona GSE)
An institution fostering scientific cooperation among the UPF Department of Economics and Business, the UAB Unit of Economic Analysis, the CSIC Economic Analysis Institute and the Research Centre for International Economics (CREI) with the aim of fostering research and postgraduate studies of excellence in economics and social sciences at an international level.
- Barcelona Institute for International Studies (IBEI)
This is an interuniversity research institute that was set up in 2004 by the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the Open University of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra University and the Foundation Centre for International Documentation and Information in Barcelona (CIDOB). Its goal is to conduct research and postgraduate training in international studies.
- Continuing Education Institute (IDEC)
This private foundation was set up in 1993 at the initiative of Pompeu Fabra University and a group of leading companies and institutions. Its central goal is to develop continuing education addressed to professionals in close cooperation with the business world.

- School of International Trade (ESCI) (new partner)
The School of International Trade (ESCI) was established in 1993 as a joint initiative of the Government of Catalonia and the Pompeu Fabra University. From its origins, the centre's teaching program aimed at training professionals who could respond to the internationalization of the Catalan economic and productive fabric. Nowadays, the centre is also covering fields as marketing, trade distribution or the management of human resources and leading of organisations.
- Elisava, School of Desing (new partner)
Created in 1961, Elisava was the first school of design established in Spain. As a centre attached to the UPF, it offers bachelor's degrees adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) as well as professionalizing masters. In its fiftieth anniversary, the School has become a catalyser centre offering a transversal, flexible and creative teaching and research programme, addressed to the professional world and in close collaboration with international companies and universities.

- Scientific Research Council (CSIC)
This is a public institution that was set up in 1939 and is affiliated with the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the Secretariat of State for Research. Its goal involves promoting, coordinating, developing and disseminating scientific and technological research of a multidisciplinary nature in order to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and to economic, social and cultural development, fostering staff training and providing advice for public and private institutions operating in these fields.
- Research Centre for International Economics (CREI)
This is a university research institute that has been attached to Pompeu Fabra University since 1994. It was set up as a consortium and was formed by the Government of Catalonia and Pompeu Fabra University. Its goal is to conduct studies on economic policy and international development, with the primary fields of research being macroeconomics and international economics from a technical and empirical standpoint, with particular attention being lent to Europe.

- Research Centre for Mediterranean Economies (CREMed)
This centre was set up in 2008 by Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and the European Institute of the Mediterranean. Its goal is to promote quality economic research on development, especially in relation to the Mediterranean region. Similarly, it examines the economic relations between the European Union and Mediterranean countries by analyzing, among others, the economic scope of the European Neighbourhood Policy. In addition, with the support of Barcelona Development Research Group, it promotes cooperation among economic research centres in the Mediterranean wishing to conduct empirical and theoretical research.
- Evolutionary Biology Institute (IBE) (CSIC-UPF)
This research institute was set up by the Scientific Research Council and Pompeu Fabra University in 2008. Its goal it to study the processes and mechanisms involved in the generation of biological diversity with the aim of analyzing the genetic basis for the differences, placing particular emphasis on how these differences are set within, conveyed to and interact with the environment.

- Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB)
Launched in 2006, this is a joint initiative of the Government of Catalonia, Barcelona City Council and Pompeu Fabra University. The Park constitutes infrastructure with heightened knowledge production in the field of biomedicine and health sciences. Its primary goals are to promote research, knowledge transfer and innovation among the companies and organizations housed in the Park; to promote and market the Park, and to manage common services with a high added value it offers to the companies and institutions that have been set up there.

Institut de recerca de l'Hospital del Mar i dependent del Parc de Salut Mar, l'IMIM és un centre adscrit a la Universitat Pompeu Fabra des de 1998 i està situat en el Parc de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona des del 2006. Durant els darrers vint anys ha desenvolupat una recerca competitiva i ha format personal investigador altament qualificat en els àmbits de la biomedicina i de les ciències de la salut.
- Mar Health Park
Hospital del Mar's research institute and subsidiary of the Mar Health Park, IMIM is run by Pompeu Fabra University since 1998 and located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park since 2006. Over the last twenty years, IMIM has developed a competitive research programme, and trained highly qualified research personnel in the fields of biomedicine and health sciences.

Becoming a foundation in 1984, Phonos Foundation promotes cultural activities around music technology. Working close with the Music TechnologyGroup (MTG) of the Pompeu Fabra University, Phonos promotes social and cultural projects to foster the creation anddiffusion of music with technological means. Most of the activity of the Foundation is focused on the Phonos project.
