Course details

  • Duration: 60 hours of class + 40 hours of online work.
  • Format: most of the editions are online live courses, but some of them are also offered face-to-face at UPF. In all cases, attending the sessions is highly recommended but not mandatory. 
  • Location: Ciutadella Campus (on-site editions).
  • ECTS credits: Up to 6 RAC credits according to the regulations. By obtaining a pass grade, undergraduate UPF students can be awarded 6 RAC credits (except for Translation and Interpreting and Applied Languages students, who cannot obtain credits for this course). To obtain credits for extracurricular activities, you will need to send the certificate to the PIE or your degree program's administrative office.
  • UPF certificate: If you have completed the course (witha minimum of 80% attendance), you will receive a UPF Certificate by email. 
  • Who can enroll on this course: Anyone over the age of 18.

 

Course objectives

This course will provide you with the necessary resources to consolidate your C2 CEFR level. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a C2-level UPF certificate.

Furthermore, this course will help you to take the official CIFALC exam with confidence. CIFALC exams allow you to obtain a C2 level certificate in Catalan Language approved by the Direcció General de Política Lingüística.

Online course’s features:

  • Interactive sessions held via videoconference.
  • Real-time online group work to practise both speaking and writing skills.
  • Consolidation and extension material for autonomous study.
  • Recordings of the key theorical parts of the virtual sessions, allowing students to review them afterwards.

Please remember that if you followed your secondary school curriculum in Catalan from 1991 onwards, you can ask for your C1 level certificate at your high school.

 

Fee: €405

  • 100 euro discount for the teaching staff (PDI) at UPF (maximum of 12 PDIs), administrative staff (PTGAS) (maximum 12 PTGAS), ALUMNI at UPF (maximum 12 ALUMNI) and for UPF undergraduate students. Fee with the discount: €305
  • CIFALC official exam fee is not included. The fee includes teaching, the material necessary to follow the course fee. However, UPF Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), are entitled to a €100 reduction (course fee €305), as the University subsidises this training so that its Teaching and Research Staff can achieve proficiency level in Catalan.
  • Idiomes UPF reserves the right to cancel any course which does not reach the minimum number of participants (13). In such cases, the full course fee will be reimbursed. Once the minimum number of participants required to open the group has been reached, we will send you an email with the full course details (room, coursebook, teacher, etc.)
