Application is the first necessary step before places are formally assigned. The procedure consists of the following stages:

 

The number of places available each term and the application schedule for each course will be published on the Planning tab (on the website).

The day that the application period opens, students from all doctoral programs will receive an email from [email protected] to their student email account ([email protected]) with a link to the application form, which they should fill in and send.

  • Once the application period has closed for each training event, the students being offered a place will receive an email from [email protected] confirming or denying their access to the course.
  • Places will be allocated in order of the date of reception of the application form.
  • Depending on the training event, other criteria for prioritising the allocation of places may be applied, for example, prioritising students who are starting their doctoral studies or, conversely, those who are finishing and writing their doctoral thesis.

Once the places have been accepted and confirmed, the Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Office will register the students to the courses they have applied for. The course will appear in their Aula Global in the Campus Global of UPF.

Those people who have been admitted to a training event and who can not attend, must notify the office 3 days before the start of the course in order to allow another person to take up the place.

This notification must be sent via email to [email protected] at least two working days before the course starts in order to avoid a penalty.

 

Attendance will be monitored at each training event, whether face-to-face, online or in hybrid formats. In the event of online training events, the total number of minutes that the student has connected to the platform will be counted.
The attendance policy for training events within the program is summarised as follows:
  • In order to receive an attendance certificate, the student must attend a minimum of 80% of the sessions.
  • Attendance of between 80% and 50%: the student will not receive an attendance certificate but no penalty will be applied.
  • For attendance of less than 50% without due justification, the student will not receive the attendance certificate and they will be placed at the end of the waiting list for training events organised during the rest of the academic year. 
  • Attendance certificate: should be requested by email to [email protected].
