CÍCLIKS: training for PhD students

CÍCLIKS is a publicly-funded training programme for doctoral students at UPF with the aim of promoting professional research and development.
This set of cross-disciplinary training activities is aimed at students from any doctoral program. It runs in parallel with the development of the doctoral thesis, while also aiming to motivate and inspire students in their teaching roles.

The programme is dedicated to the design and implementation of a training programme which creates a meeting point for doctoral students from all scientific areas within UPF, thereby opening up the way for future interdisciplinary interactions and promoting networking.

In addition, aims to facilitate the acquisition of skills in the following areas:

• AI in Research & Data Analysis: Generative AI tools and ethical application, and qualitative analysis with software (NVivo).
• Career Development & Job Search: Career planning within and beyond academia, scientific CV/cover letter drafting, and job interview preparation.
• Scientific Communication & Publishing: Academic writing (articles and book chapters), poster design, and effective oral presentation skills.
• Ethics, Integrity & Diversity: Research integrity, good practices, and integrating diversity perspectives into research projects.
• Research Methodology: Survey research design, planning, implementation, and ethical considerations.
