The Ministry of Language Policy has hosted the presentation of the Catalan version for the arText system, which works as an assistant in the creation of specialized texts and the use of plain language. The ceremony took place in Barcelona at the Palau Marc, on June 4th 2025, at 12pm. The speakers included Vanessa Bretxa, head of the department Accés al Coneixement i Impuls de l’Ús del Català; Teresa Cabré, president of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans; Llorenç Perelló, head of the Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics; Iria da Cunha, head of the project; and Amor Montané, coordinator of the Catalan version.

The Catalan version for arText has been developed at the Universitat Nacional d’Educació a Distància (UNED), with the financial support of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics. The project started in 2014 at the Institut de Lingüística Aplicada, through a Leonardo de la Fundació BBVA project headed by Iria da Cunha. When professor da Cunha moved to UNED she managed to get other projects approved by the Ministry to continue developing the system. In the last few years, they've focused on the Catalan version, with the participation of researchers from several universities, such as UNED, Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
