Today, a command of oral communication, of public speaking, is crucial to develop academically and professionally. Academically, because student activity in different subjects is evaluated primarily by means of oral presentations. Professionally, because in over 90% of professions, oral skills are required to properly perform work in the form of public presentations. But in addition, work on oral communication helps develop other skills such as the ability to synthesize, logical and critical thinking, active listening or learning.
In view of the above, this minor aims to provide specialized training in oral communication skills (public speaking) so that students are able to give presentations and express themselves properly and efficiency in academic and professional spheres. This general goal can be achieved with the series of training activities that make up the minor, which works from the various perspectives of public presentations: public speeches, presentations in front of a camera or microphone, project defence, debates..., working on both verbal and non-verbal expression, speaking and argumentation.
Oral communication skills are among the most highly valued in today's society and in the professional world. Despite its importance, in our country there is a clear lack of training in a discipline that is key for academic and professional development. Therefore, this minor aims to provide specialized training in oral communication skills (public speaking) so that students are able to express themselves properly and efficiency in academic and professional spheres.
