Advanced Master in Legal Sciences

In order to be admitted to the Master in Legal Sciences candidates must submit the following documents:
- Official university bachelor's or master's degree from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) or equivalent foreign degree allowing access to a postgraduate degree in the country that issued the degree. - For those candidates whose native language is not Spanish or have not studied in that language, it is necessary to submit a B2 of Spanish level certification (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), in addition the academic direction may decide to interview the candidate.

Erasmus Mundus joint Master in Artificial Intelligence (EMAI)
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS
- Identity Card o Passport. If you hold more than one nationality, please attach a copy of all the documents providing those nationalities.
- Official university bachelor's or master's degree from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) or equivalent foreign degree allowing access to a postgraduate degree in the country that issued the degree. Should the applicant have not yet finished their studies at the time of application, they will be asked to sign a statement certifying that they will have completed them before the start of EMAI.
- Academic Transcript of Records. This transcript must contain all the courses taken during the entire bachelor's or master's degree at the university of origin. Hence, it should include courses, grades, and the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) obtained to complete the programme.
- Curriculum Vitae in English. Maximum lenght of two pages.
- A letter of motivation in English stating the candidate's interest in following the master's programme (600 to 800 words). Applications with longer motivation letters will be automatically rejected.
- A one-minute video introducing yourself, explaining your background and how you will contribute to the EMAI programme. To submit this requirement, attach a Word/PDF file with a link to your video, which should be posted on YouTube, Drive, Vimeo or any other platform that allows viewing. The video must not exceed 30 Mb. Applications with longer videos will be automatically rejected.
- Two letters of recommendation (preferably both form academic profiles).
- The EMAI Student Supplement Questionnaire (NEW, for the 2024-2026 cohort).
- English certificate of language proficiency in both written and spoken is requiered. This can be demonstrated through a language test (only TOEFL, iBT, IELTS Academic or Cambridge). Only certificates with a two-year validity at the time of application will be accepted. Students holding a bachelor's or master's degree from a research university in one of the following countries are exempted from providing the certificate: Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States of America, or in one of the four member states of the EMAI Consortium.

Master’s Degree in Translation among Global Languages: Chinese-Spanish
- Official university bachelor's or master's degree from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) or equivalent foreign degree allowing access to a postgraduate degree in the country that issued the degree. Should the applicant have not finished yet their studies at the time of application, they will be asked to sign a statement certifying that they will have completed them before the start of the master degree program.
Qualifications should be preferably in the areas of humanities or social and juridical sciences. - Academic transcript of the accredited official training with the average grade at the university of origin. (up to 60 possible points)
Candidates must prove to have completed a degree in a country whose language is Chinese or Spanish and to have completed a 50% of the degree subjects in the other language.
Candidates who do not meet the previous requirement are requested to present the following documentation:
-Proof of C1 Spanish level
-Proof of level C1 (issued by a European institution) or HSK6 level (issued by Hanban) of Chinese or minimum level of 4 TOCFL
Exceptionally, HSK5 access level may be accepted if an oral interview with the Master's academic tutor is passed.
- Proof of B2 English level
- Motivation letter written in the second foreign language (maximum length of two pages), stating the candidate’s interest in following the master’s programme. The letter should reflect the candidate’s fluency in Spanish or Chinese in free style (up to 5 possible points), as well as a motivation corresponding with the master’s goals (up to 5 possible points) (up to 10 possible points).
- Identity Card or Passport.
OPTIONAL DOCUMENTS
- Proof of higher levels in any of the working languages to those required to enrol in the master (up to 20 possible points)
- Proof of professional/teaching/research experience in in any of the fields related to the master's programme (optional, up to 10 possible points).
-Professional experience: official working life report stating that the candidate has been working in an institution or company as a Chinese-Spanish translator during a period of more than two years (2 points for each two-year period).
-Teaching experience: certificate issued by the head of the institution where teaching has been given including the subject taught and the academic year of teaching (2 points for each two-year period).
-Research experience: proof of presentations in international conferences, academic publications, research master’s thesis (2 points for each merit)

The following can access the master programme:
- Degree graduates in Biomedical Engineering;
- Graduates in other areas of engineering or basic sciences, with knowledge in programming and comparable to graduates in Biomedical Engineering (engineering in the fields of IT, Telecommunications, Telematics,Audiovisual Systems, Mechanics, Aerospace, Sound and Image, Electronics, Materials, Nanoscience andNanotechnology), also graduates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics. These students must take complementary undergraduate courses in life sciences, such as physiology of the human body and basic molecular biology. The background of each individual student and the specific master thesis project the student wants to carry out will influence which exact courses will be required.
- Graduates in Life Sciences with knowledge of the physiology of the human body and cell biology, comparable to graduates in Biomedical Engineering (Medicine, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Biological Systems,Biochemistry, Biology and Microbiology). These students must take complementary undergraduate courses in maths, basic science, programming and computational techniques. The background of each individual student and the specific master thesis project the student wants to carry out will influence which exact courses will be required.
- Curriculum Vitae in English with the description of any training and activities undertaken by the candidate related with the master.
- Covering letter in English stating the candidate's interest (academic and professional) in undertaking the master and their professional ambitions (400 to 600 words). In particular this letter should answer the following questions: Why do you want to do this particular master? Why is your background adequate to carry out the master? Which is the research area you are most interested in? Which of the proposed master thesis projects are you interested in and why?
- A (professional or academic) letter of recommendation signed by someone who really knows the candidate and who can assess them. Besides, the presentation of a second letter of a different kind (professional or academic) than the first one will be positively assessed.
In order to optimise the handling and security of the letters of recommendation, the candidate will have to request them via the online application system, where he/she will need to indicate the e-mail address of the person/people he/she wishes to be recommended by. That person will receive an e-mail indicating that the candidate wishes to have a letter of recommendation from him/her. Non-institutional addresses such as *yahoo, *gmail, *hotmail, etc... will not be accepted.

Master in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies

Should the applicant have not finished yet their studies at the time of application, they will be asked to sign a statement certifying that they will have completed them before the start of the master degree program.
Qualifications in any academic field shall be accepted but students are recommended to have a knowledge of the history of film and/or analysis of audiovisual works. Therefore, in the final assessment of candidates, holding an official university bachelor's degree qualification in Audiovisual Communication, Humanities, Fine Arts or other qualifications that have involved free elective university credits related with the history of film or the analysis of audiovisual works shall be taken into account.

Academic report, of a maximum of 6 pages (2,100 characters per page), in which the candidate shall outline a potential research project related with the lines of investigation of the subjects from the Master as well as the CINEMA research group.
A written work is dealt with in which the candidate should be able to prove their knowledge displaying their readings and viewings of cinematographic and audiovisual works. The report must contain the project proposal, the ultimate aims of the investigation, a methodological approach and a bibliography/filmography. Once accepted for the Master, the student will be able to carry out the same proposed project or change it entirely, as long as the lines of investigation of the Master are kept to.

Qualifications can be in the following academic areas: communication studies, humanities, sociology, psychology, anthropology or communication technologies.
- Academic transcript of the accredited official training with the average grade at the university of origin.
- Curriculum vitae in Catalan, Spanish or English.
- Statement of purpose in Catalan, English or Spanish, explaining the candidate’s interest in enrolling on the master’s degree programme
- Spanish level B2 within the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) or equivalent, in the case of students who are not from Spain or any other country where Spanish is the official language.
- English level B2 of the CEFR or equivalent. Applicants from countries in which English is the official language will be exempted from this requirement.
- Identity Card or Passport.
OPTIONAL DOCUMENTS
- Video presentation where you explain your profile and your motivation for studying the master's degree (it's necessary to upload a word document with the link to the video)
- Two letters of academic or professional recommendation
- Proof of at least three years’ work experience in a field related to the subject area of the master’s programme.
- Proof of at least one year of research experience.
- Proof of teaching experience.
Admission criteria
The following assessment criteria will be applied in the candidate selection process (max. 10 points):
- Academic transcript (max. 5 points).
- Curriculum vitae (max. 3 points): consideration will be given to professional, academic or research experience in the field of the social sciences and communication.
- Statement of purpose (max. 1 point)
In the case of candidates who have obtained the same score following application of the admission criteria, a personal interview will be held in order to break the tie (max. 1 point): the interview will make it possible to clarify or better define aspects of the curriculum and, thus, differentiate between students with similar transcripts.

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS

In case you would like to be exempted from accrediting any language because you are a native speaker or you have studied in that language, it is necessary for you to upload a brief letter justifying the reasons why you request to be exempted from this requirement.
- A letter of motivation in English stating the candidate's interest in following the master's programme (400 to 600 words).
- Two letters of recommendation (both academic).
- Identity Card or Passport.

Research master's degree in Economics, Finances and Management
Mandatory documents
- Official undergraduate degree/diploma (or a bachelor's degree, a degree in engineering or architecture, diplomas, technical engineering and technical architecture diplomas, or, for foreign qualifications, the equivalent qualification awarded by an accredited higher education institution) with at least 180 ECTS credits in economics, finance, management, physics, mathematics, political sciences or engineering.
- Academic transcript of the accredited official training with the average grade at the university of origin.
- Research Proposal: This should be a concise statement of issues of interest, their importance, history, and the candidate's approach- amounting to less than 2 typed page.
- Two academic letters of recommendation: these letters must be sent directly by the recommenders.
- postgraduate qualification (master's) with at least 60 ECTS credits in the fields of economics, finance or business is highly recommended.
- Proof of knowledge of the English language: This requirement can be waived if English was the language used in obtaining the undergraduate/master's degree.
