Rafael Correa, President of Ecuador, visited the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), a research cluster that includes Pompeu Fabra University.

Jordi Camí, CEO of Barcelona's Biomedical Research Park, made the initial presentation, and then the Ecuadorean President visited the Genomics Laboratory and the Developmental Biology Laboratory. 

Antoni Castellà, the Government of Catalonia's Secretary for Universities and Research, Josep Maria Martorell, Director of Research of the Government of Catalonia, Francesc Posas, Vice-Rector for Science Policy at Pompeu Fabra University and Margarita Sala, Head of Administration of the PRBB Consortium, accompanied him during his visit.

Arcadi Navarro, Director of the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences at UPF (DCEXS), was also present on the official visit, and explained the basics of sequencing a genome to Rafael Correa.
