The official UPF tool that allows companies and institutions to access a wide range of professionals from different fields of activity.
It is managed by the Professional Careers Service.

Other means

If you find a company or institution interested in hiring you for an internship through the university, you must contact the Professional Careers Service to establish the agreement.

Things to keep in mind:

Company internships can never be a reason to exempt yourself from any academic obligations.
Having an internship in your 4th year of studies favours you for the work market.

Key aspects for internships

In order to formalize an internship agreement, it is essential to be enrolled in the current school year in any of the programs given in the School, according to UPF internship regulation (article 4).
You can do a maximum of 800 hours of internship work per school year, including curricular and extracurricular internships.
Tasks must be related to your degree.
The minimum compensation must be €6,30 gross / hour. Anyway, some exceptions are allowed:
- The institution is a public body or a non-profit company.
- In case of compensation is less than €6,30 gross / hour, the company must give the student compensatory and/or complementary help in costs such as transport, meals, etc.
- For internships abroad, the regulations in the country where they are carried out will be evaluated.
If you have completed the necessary credits and pay for the rights of the degree, you will not be able to make an internship agreement as UPF student. So, consider the following:
- If you request the degree, and you have a current internship agreement, this one will be terminated.
- If you request the degree, since that moment, you will not be able to sign any new internship agreement during the rest of the academic year.
- If you want to do an internship, for example summer 2024, wait until its finalisation in order to request the degree.
Internships for IBE degrees have additional requirements, which must be consulted at the course syllabus.

Curricular internships

The curricula allow obtaining credits, considering that:

It is essential to have all 1st and 2nd courses approved for the degrees in ADE, Economia, Empresarials-Management and IBE.
For double degree students it is necessary to have access to the 6th course. Check this link in order to see detailed information about access to the 6th course.
Internships are subject to your study plan and are divided into 3 electives:
- Internship I, 5 credits (125 hours of internship)
- Internship II, 5 credits (125 hours of internship)
- Internship III, 4 credits (100 hours of internship)
In order to obtain the maximum number of internship credits (14), you will have to spend 350 hours.
It is recommended to check the course syllabus in order to get full information.
Internships can be done through two ways :
1. Through University-Company Agreement, when there's an internship offer on Campus Treball.
2. Through Labour Contract: for cases whne student finds a job or is already working on his/her own and want to obtain internship credits. Check the page Getting credits for internships with employment contracts.

Internship enrolment is always done by Secretariat office, once the agreement is authorized. So, internship elective courses can't be selected during July's enrolment neither the different enrolment modification during the academic course

Internships in family businesses

From academic year 2020-2021, it is established a maximum of 9 internship credits for those situations where student is first-degree relative with business owners and/or business members.
Student must inform the Professional Careers Service and the Secretary of the Faculty in writing.
The Secretary will individually evaluate the appropriateness of assigning credits for the internship.
Failure to communicate this circumstance to the mentioned bodies may be grounds for cancellation of the assignment of internship credits.

Internships managed through a Temporary Employment Company or other intermediary company

Each situation will be evaluated by a special commission and there is no guarantee that credits will be awarded.
It will be especially appreciate if there is a real interlocutor in the company hosting the internship, who will be committed to valuing the student in writing.
It will also be appreciated if the company already has a framework agreement with the UPF.
It will be necessary to ensure that all the requirements that ensure the proper function of the internship are fulfilled, as well as good communication between the company and the UPF.

The definitive authorization of all the agreements belongs to the internship coordinator of the Faculty, and in accordance with the requirements mentioned above.

Extracurricular Internships

The extracurricular internships do not allow you to obtain credits, and you must keep in mind that:

You can do it during any stage of your degree, even if you find yourself in one of these situations:
- That you are in the third or fourth course and you have subjects from the first or second course pending.
- That you are in the second course of your Degree.
- That you have previously done curricular internships and have already incorporated the maximum of 14 credit.
- That you do not want to add more credits to your file.
Tasks must be related to your degree.
Internships of the IBE degree have additional requirements that must be consulted at the course syllabus.
