Call for applications

Turn your innovation, applied research or entrepreneurship project into reality in the fields of arts and culture, social sciences and humanities, health and life sciences, or engineering.

#EnResidència, located on the Poblenou campus, offers you the opportunity to develop your project in collaboration with the university community and external experts over a period of ten and a half months, renewable upon extension.



Who can apply

Participation is open to all people who have or have had a connection with UPF: undergraduate, postgraduate, master’s and doctoral students and alumni, as well as other members of the UPF community .

What are the profiles of our residents?

Our residents include entrepreneurs, researchers working on applied research projects, cultural agents and social agents active in fields such as cultural, artistic or social innovation, health and life sciences, and engineering.

How to apply

Applications may be submitted individually or collectively. It is not necessary for all members of the team to have or have had a connection with Pompeu Fabra University.

Documentation to be submitted: access the application form

  • Project title. 
  • Detailed project description (up to 4,000 characters)
  • Justification of relevance (up to 2,000 characters)
  • Date of incorporation (if it is a company)
  • Work plan and timeline (up to 2,000 characters)
  • On-site presence plan, in case of wishing to use the spaces (morning, afternoon or full day)
  • Identification of project members (name, phone number, email address) and institutional affiliation, if applicable
  • CV of the applicants (up to 600 characters)
  • Copy of ID card or passport
  • In the case of incorporated start-ups, attach the deed of incorporation.

What will be assessed in the applications

  • The quality of the project, its innovative nature, and its feasibility and coherence (0–5 points)
  • The cross-disciplinary approach and interdisciplinarity of the proposal (0–5 points).
  • The commitment to interact with other initiatives, whether with other resident projects or with other agents and strategic initiatives of UPF (0–5 points).
  • The willingness to promote the project by creating synergies that go beyond the university environment itself (0–5 points).
  • The feasibility of the project, in line with the resources and support we offer (0–5 points).

How to apply for the "En Residència" call

You can submit the application form electronically by attaching it to the general electronic application, which can be found on the e-Office (electronic headquarters) under the procedures and services catalogue.

Before starting the procedure, you will be informed about how to identify yourself electronically (idCAT Mòbil, idCAT, Cl@ve, T-Cat, electronic ID card, etc.).

You must complete the general electronic application by indicating the following:

  • In the “I REQUEST” section: Application for the “En Residència” call 2026–2027
    (in lowercase and in Catalan, exactly as written)
  • To the body or service to which the application is addressed: SERVEI D'INNOVACIÓ - UPF BUSINESS SHUTTLE (in uppercase and in Catalan, exactly as written)

You may also submit the application and documentation in person at the University’s General Registry. The application form must be original and hand-signed (photocopies or electronically signed forms are not accepted for in-person submission).

It may also be submitted through any other channel permitted under Law 39/2015 of 1 October on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
