The Pompeu Fabra University has revived the newspaper Diari de Barcelona, which disappeared in 2009, thanks to an agreement with the Barcelona City Council and, by doing so, has placed professional practice at the heart of the Tallers area. The project represents the transformation of this historical newspaper into a multichannel medium produced by and large by Journalism students, together with students from Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Translation and Interpretation and other bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University.

The newspaper is produced as part of the subject Integrated Journalism Workshop in the UPF’s Integrated Newsroom, where students work alongside the subject lecturers and newspaper team. This general-interest medium, which pays special attention to young people, is published online and features all manner of journalistic formats.
