The Tallers area was created in response to the new learning and knowledge transfer challenges of the EDvolution project. The Pompeu Fabra University is working to define a unique educational model that reflects its singular nature as a teaching institution and adapts to the needs of future professionals, companies and social actors.

EDvolution is a project designed with transdisciplinary learning and new ways of generating knowledge in mind; one that integrates the flexibility and versatility of students and cooperation between society, businesses and the University. A gateway to the transfer of knowledge and continuous synergies, with the goal of fostering intercultural and intergenerational dialogue.

In this regard, the Tallers area provides the spaces and services necessary for hands-on learning and cultural production, understood as a tool for social reflection that encourages critical thinking and sparks both the students’ imagination and creativity. Key aspects of the Tallers area include the UPF’s Integrated Newsroom, where the newspaper Diari de Barcelona is published; the Tallers Gallery, a space for cultural exhibitions and production; the In Construction Room, where students and film industry professionals have the opportunity to screen their work in every step of the production process; and In Residence, a programme which hosts projects related to the cultural, social and art industries.
