UPF offers a specific course for the PDI that want to prepare for the examen oficial CIFALC del nivell de suficiència (C1/C1 per al PDI), which grants a certificatethat is authorised by the Generalitat de Catalunya and can be used to accredit a C1 level of Catalan for all purposes and contexts.
Moreover, passing the course (a 50 % on the final test, which evaluates four linguistic skills, is required) grants the certificat de coneixement suficient lingüístic docent de la UPF, which can only be used to accredit the C1 level of Catalan at UPF.
These two options to accredit a C1 level of Catalan follow decret 128/2010, which establishes the linguistic knowledge needed by PDI working at Catalan universities.
The course is meant to accompany PDI who are interested in accrediting a C1 level and to heko them achive that level, both in oral and written skills. In order to reach these goals, pedagogical resources have been adapted so that language learning can be significative for a university and teaching context.

- Type of course: Online (via videoconference)
- Objective:
- To acquire the necessary skills to successfully complete the Catalan C1 CIFALC exam.
- To work on different strategies to obtain good results in all the different parts of the exam.
- To improve your written and oral expression through structured practice of official C1 exam and activities.
- To review the most difficult aspects of Catalan Grammar.
- Instructor: Laia Roca, Idiomes UPF
- Duration: 25 hours (10 sessions)
- Schedule: Wednesday, 2.30 to 5 pm + Monday 23 November (mock session)
- Calendar: 14, 21 & 28 October; 4, 11, 18 & 25 November; 2 & 9 December + Monday 23 November
- Required level: to get the most out of the course, it is recommended to have a previous level of Catalan (C1.1). On the first day of the course, the instructor will determine whether the level is appropriate.
- UPF Certificate: On successful completion of the course, the participant will obtain a certificate containing the course details.
- Fee: Free for UPF Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) and master’s and PhD students
- Number of participants in the course: Minimum 10 / Maximum 20
