The JMC EUGov and BACES have organized a new seminar on EU affairs for the academic year 2023-2024, as listed in our programme of activities. This time, we have the pleasure of inviting Dr. Juan Antonio Mayoral to give a seminar on the European Democracy Action Plan. 

Juan Antonio is a distinguished researcher at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), deputy director of the Madrid Center for Interdisciplinary European Studies (MACIES) and coordinator of the Jean Monnet Chair in Interdisciplinary EU Governance (PROMETHEUS). He is also a Global Research Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for International Courts Research at the University of Copenhagen, where he was a senior lecturer and held the Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Law and Policy before coming to Madrid. Since 2022 he has been a full member of the Academia Joven de España and during 2023 he has been an advisor to the Office for the Coordination of the Spanish Presidency of the EU. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Law and Courts section of the European Consortium for Policy Research and of the Danish Association for European Studies. Juan has an interdisciplinary background based on a PhD in Political and Social Sciences (European University Institute), degrees in Law and Philosophy (University of the Balearic Islands) and a degree in Political Science (Complutense University of Madrid).

The seminar will take place at the Room 40.113, Roger de Llúria Building (Ciutadella campus). It has been organized for the students of the subject "Governance and Public Policies: Challenges and Opportunities within the EU" (BA in Political Science and Public Administration and BA in Global Studies, UPF).
