Catherine Hoeffler is an Associate Professor of European Studies at the University of Geneva, where she also heads the Dusan Sidjanski Competence Centre for European Studies. Her research focuses on the intersection of economic logic and security issues, particularly in the European Union and in a comparative manner. A PhD in political science from Sciences Po Paris, Catherine Hoeffler has held teaching and/or research positions at Sciences Po Bordeaux, the College of Europe, the European University Institute in Florence, the Graduate Institute, Geneva, the University of Montreal, and the Max-Planck-Institut für Gesellschaftsforschung, among others.
She will present a paper on the polity implications of recent developments in EU security and defence policy.
