The representatives from Johns Hopkins visited during the second European Conference of the Forum on Education Abroad, which UPF hosted last week.

The agreement includes the exchange programme in World History at the University and the master's programme in History at Johns Hopkins, as well as lecturers and researchers from the two institutions.

The agreement also establishes a 4+1 collaboration, in which participating students from Johns Hopkins will spend two stages at UPF - the first during the bachelor's degree course and the second during the master's programme after graduating from Johns Hopkins, and obtain their bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins and their master's degree in World History from UPF.

The agreement was signed by Josep Ferrer, vice-rector for International Relations of UPF and Lori A. Citti, the Director of the Global Opportunities Office at Johns Hopkins University. Those present at the signing ceremony were Manuel Colas-Gil, resident director of Johns Hopkins in Spain and president of the APUNE; and the Professors from the Humanities Department at UPF Stephen Jacobson, coordinator of the master's programme in World History, and Víctor Farías, deputy director of the Department.

This agreement is the result of the academic contacts between the professors Stephen Jacobson (UPF) and Gabriel Paquette (Krieger School of Arts and Sciences). Through this agreement, these contacts have become institutional to the benefit of both the Department of Humanities and the Jaume Vicens i Vives University Institute of History.
