UPF's two English accreditation tests, the Prova Certificadora de Competència Lingüística language proficiency test (PCCL) for advanced level (B2 CEFR) and superior level PCCL (C1 CEFR), have been granted the CERTACLES European seal of quality.

Thus, UPF has become the first Catalan university to offer an accreditation test for level C1 CEFR of English with this prestigious seal, awarded by the Asociación de Centros de Lenguas en la Enseñanza Superior -Association of Language Centres in Higher Education (ACLES).

ACLES and its seal of quality is recognized by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) in their assessment of cross-disciplinary skills, as well as by the Inter-University Council of Catalonia (CIC) and also by the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR), with regard to language qualification in Erasmus exchanges.

At the same time, ACLES is an umbrella organization for the Catalan public universities and 60 universities from the Spanish State and is a member of the European association CERCLES. Therefore, the certificates bearing the CERTACLES seal are valid within the European Higher Education Area.

An endorsement of the work of UPF Languages

This recognition, already obtained by the University in 2012 (up until 2014) for the multilevel modality of the PCCL, endorses the strategic lines along which U PF Languages is currently working.

This service was set up fifteen years ago with the mission of meeting the needs of the members of the university community regarding language training and certification, with the support of the Office of the Vice-rector for Teaching and Academic Planning and the Centre for Teaching Quality and Innovation (C QUID), within the institution's multilingual framework.
