In the sixth call of the programme the ICREA has designated six researchers at UPF: José García Montalvo, Louise McNally, José María Micó, Francesc Posas, Núria Sebastián Gallés and Xavier Serra.

This means that in the six calls, twenty-eight UPF researchers have now been awarded this important distinction for excellence in science by the Government of Catalonia.

This award, consisting of 50,000 euros for each candidate, recognizes excellence in research and capacity for leadership, and its main aim is to encourage and maintain university lecturers by allowing them to prioritize research over teaching for a five-year period at a public Catalan university.
