The indicator was published in mid-2013, and since then the authors have corrected, updated and expanded the data, which were released in March 2014.

The Scholar H Index involved the mass measurement of the academic output of a scientific community of more than 50,000 professors, and the results of around 15,000 of them are listed. In order to minimize any possible errors (since there is no control or standardization of the sources processed), they were measured with a tolerable error of performance using the H and G indices, which tolerate errors of no more than 10%.
The H and G indices are two bibliometric indicators for measuring the relevance of a researcher's scientific output, designed by the experts JE Hirsch and Leo Egghe respectively. The calculation for each author is based on their scientific production and their associated citations in Google Scholar located. The index is calculated after a manual processing of the results, and is presented by areas of knowledge, taking the first third of the lecturers with a higher H-index as the cut-off point.
