UPF obtains 66 mobility grants under the new Erasmus+ KA107 programme

The rants will be announced during the first term of the 2015-16 academic year, with the aim of covering academic stays that will take place over the next two academic years, 2015-16 and 2016-17.

UPF International students Spanish Service for Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) has published the results of the first call for the Erasmus+ KA107 programme aimed at financing the mobility of students and university staff with non-European institutions. In total, 62 mobility projects from universities and consortia of Spanish universities were presented of which a total of thirty-three have received funding.  UPF has received a very good quality assessment of the project presented and as a result has been awarded sixty-six grants to fund academic mobility for both students and lecturers with universities in Australia, China and Hong Kong, South Korea, India, Japan and the United States.

The sixty-six grants will be announced during the first term of the 2015-16 academic year, with the aim of covering academic stays that will take place over the next two academic years, 2015-16 and 2016-17, with higher education institutions in these countries and with which the UPF is currently already collaborating.

In addition, the Alliance 4 Universities (A4U), an association of which UPF is a member, together with UAB, UAM, UC3M, has been awarded one hundred mobility grants with Russia and South Africa. Pompeu Fabra University will be able to benefit from twenty of these academic mobility grants with these two countries.

The main goals of the new Erasmus+KA107 programme are to increase the attractiveness of European institutions worldwide, increase the impact of the EU development policy in the world, and to modernize higher education institutions outside of Europe. Within this framework, the EU plans to finance a total of 135,000 mobility exchanges with associated countries between 2014 and 2020.
