The study plan includes the option of doing internships in external companies starting from the third year.
External internships are a training action developed by students and supervised by the university. They have three main objectives. First, to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in academic training. The second goal is to bring the student closer to the reality of the professional field in which they will work once they graduate. The third goal is to develop the competencies that facilitate their incorporation into the labor market.
In the Telecommunications Network Engineering degree, we have 84 companies and organizations where 229 students have completed internships over the past three years. Some of these companies include: Dolby, MediaPro, Betevé, Rakuten TV, TV3, CapGemini, NTT Data, Worldline Iberia, Accenture, Mango, Grifols, Volkswagen, INDRA, Avanade, Schneider Electric, IDIBAPS, Keonn Technologies, Aqua eSolutions, Vendo Services, Blowww 4 Analytics, Cuatrecasas, IOMED Medical Solutions, Sycai Technologies, Grupo Catalana Occidente, Gaes, Henkel, Indra, Corporació Guissona, Altran, RocaSalvatella, Penguin Random House and EY.
Some students also do internships with our research groups in the department.
The main motivations of students who undertake internships each year are: acquiring new knowledge, getting a closer look at the profession, and expanding their employment opportunities.
In terms of the criteria for selecting internship centers, the motivations for the tasks to be developed, interest in the sector or business area, and motivation for predefined competencies are highlighted. Establishing professional contacts and gaining insight into a company are also important.
The most positively valued aspects are: gaining work experience, learning, financial compensation, the speed and simplicity of the process, and the variety of centers offered in the job market.
You will find all the information on the program's website in the section "How to do internships?".
