ESPAISTORY

The Cognitive Media Technologies group of Universitat Pompeu Fabra in collaboration with the Computer Vision Center of Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, will present the project EspaiStory at YOMO – Youth Mobile Festival.

EspaiStory is a Mixed Reality system that allows children to create and interact with their own narratives in and on physical space. Children will use special mobile devices to project their characters and their stories on the surrounding physical space. They will also physically interact with their stories as if the characters were alive and present in the same shared space.

The project is based on a novel interaction paradigm, named “World-as- Support”, which merges and enhances the features of Augmented Reality and bodily based interaction. If you wish to try this project, we will present it during 4 days (from February 27 to March 2) as an interactive stand at YOMO, the Youth Mobile Festival in Fira Montjuic (Barcelona) within the Mobile World Congress.

This project is part of the research "Evaluation-driven design framework for the development of Full-Body Interaction Learning Environments", supported by Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (TIN2014-60599- P)

MUSIC, TECHNOLOGY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

How do we achieve the mastering of a musical instrument? Can current technology help us in this path? What would happen if our violin teacher looked like a videogame? This activity will enable knowing some results of the research.

The Unit of Academic Coordination of Engineering and Information and Communication Technologies (ETIC) of Pompeu Fabra University introduces Music, Technology and Artificial Intelligence, an innovative, interactive and fun activity. It is an auditorium show where attendants will be able to experiment the possibilities offered by artificial technology nowadays to enrich the process of learning to play a musical instrument. Some of them will even be able to go on stage to try it!

By means of the activity, we share universal values such as inclusion, overcoming of solitude, the responsible use of technology and creativity, learning and improvement, in addition to basic competences of artistic, digital, culture and values, scientific, technologic and mathematic fields.
