UPF Economics ranked top 20 globally, and number 1 in Spain

Standing alongside the best economics universities in the world is no easy task, but the UPF Department of Economics and Business has once again been ranked as one of the best. The QS World University Rankings 2016 place the UPF as the number 1 Spanish university for Economics and Econometrics, number 6 for Europe, and number 20 overall in the world.

It is also important to note that the UPF comes in as the number 1 Economics school globally when considered among a peer-group of “Top 50 Under 50” universities - a separate ranking category for younger institutions. Founded in 1990, the UPF was listed by the 2015 Times Higher Education rankings as one of the world's 7 fastest-rising young universities.

One of the most widely read university ranking systems, QS results for each university are based on academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact. The UPF Department is indeed a leading centre for research and teaching, offering a comprehensive selection of undergraduate, Master's degrees, and PhD in Economics, Finance and Management, and faculty work is frequently published in top-tier economics journals.

Consistently amongst the top economics institutions, this year's global ranking is three places higher than in 2015. The recent QS World University Rankings also spurred the World Economic Forum (WEF) to promote the UPF via its "Europe's 16 Best Economics Degrees" list.
