Andrea Caggese, professor of the Department of Economics and Business of the UPF, has received a RecerCaixa 2014 grant, for developing the project entitled "Financial constraints, hiring and firing in the careers of young workers". His project aims to provide new empirical evidence on the importance of financial factors on job perspectives, salaries and careers of young workers.

The RecerCaixa program promotes the excellence in scientific research in Catalonia. The program is promoted by the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP) and the Obra Social "La Caixa".

The call RecerCaixa 2014 has been very competitive, because the 26 winning projects were selected among a total of 221 projects submitted, all of them of a high scientific quality, according to organizers.
