Barbara Rossi, ICREA Researcher of the Department of Economics and Business of the UPF, has been awarded a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) to carry out the project entitled "Forecasting: New Methods and Applications for Forecast Evaluation".

"Forecasting" is a tool capable of identifying if certain forecasts are good and strong, so it becomes a fundamental tool in Economics, Statistics, Business and other sciences, because of its cardinal importance to guide policy, economic and other field's decisions.

The project's main objective is to deal with several important issues that the researchers often find, such as assessing the sustainability of the forecasts in the presence of instabilities or if the forecasts are optimal, and if they are not, if they need improvement.
