Andrea Polo, Professor of the Department of Economics and Business of the UPF, has been awarded a 2014 postdoctoral grant by AXA Research Fund, for developing his project "Does Shareholder Voting Reduce the Risk of Destruction of Value in Acquisitions?". This project is part of a broader research agenda on the role of shareholder activism in curbing excessive risk-taking by management.

The AXA grants support scientific research that contributes to understanding and prevention of environmental, life, and socio-economic risks. The grant’s program is highly competitive, as it proves the very high number of projects presented at the 2014 campaign with an excellent quality.
