Professor Matthew O. Jackson, Stanford University, opened the 2013-2014 academic year at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the UPF with the welcoming talk entitled "Social networks and economic behaviour".

The ceremony was held last October 16th at the Auditorium of the Campus de la Ciutadella, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the UPF, Vicente Ortún, and was attended by Professor Humberto Llavador, who introduced the speaker.

Matthew O. Jackson, considered one of the great theorists of social and economic networks, is an expert on the economic approach to the Theory of Games.
