The Department of Economics and Business of the UPF ranks the first position in the field of Economics, Business and Management on the second edition of the "ISI Rankings of the Spanish Universities according to Fields and Scientific Disciplines" for the period 2006-2010. The ranking's aim is to analyze the level of excellence in state and private Spanish universities in terms of scientific production.

Thus, according to the ISI Rankings, UPF leads the State in the field categorized as Economics, Business and Management, field represented by the Department of Economics and Business of the UPF.

The ranking is organized into 12 fields and 19 disciplines, and across 6 bibliometric indicators of production and impact analyzes the works published in the indexed journals which make up the database produced by Thomson-ISI, the journals with greatest impact and visibility at international level.

The ISI Rankings are made by researchers of the research groups on Science Evaluation and Scientific Communication (EC3) and Soft Computing and Intelligent Information Systems.
