The latest studies on research productivity place the Department of Economics and Business of the UPF (DEE) at the top of the Spanish ranking in Social Sciences and in a privileged position in the European ranking. A report published in La Vanguardia (see link below) chose four centers of excellence in research in Catalonia and included the DEE as the representative center in Social Sciences. The article emphasizes the strict recruiting process at the Department of Economics and Business of the UPF as a key factor for its productivity and the quality of the research and teaching of its professors.
