Rosa Estopà Bagot

I am associate professor in the Departament of Translation and Language Sciences at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona from 2009, where I'm teaching courses on terminology, neology, applied linguistics and Catalan language from 1994.

I'm full time researcher in the Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada (IULA) from 1994, and I am member of IULATERM research group. I am coordinator of Master in Terminology (online). I am member of the Observatori de Neologia (transfer unit) from its fundation in 1989. I collaborate with Open University of Catalonia from 2009 and with Institut Bonanova del Parc de Salut del Mar from 2015..

I am also expert on language therapy and I'm regularly involved in postgraduate teaching activities in this domain.

Now, I am especially interested in Lexical Neology (NEOXOC and NEOROC), Medical Terminology  (JUNTS-RECERCAIXA, TERMMED, LEXCOVID, LEXMED and COMCALMA), Health Communication (HEALTHCOM), Specialized school lexicography (VEB) and Society and School Scientific Knowledge Transfer  (Jugant a definir la ciència and DIXIMED per a pediatria). The DIXIMED web portal for pediatrics has received the MEDES 2023 awards from the Lilly Foundation and the Best Initiative 2022 for Health Literacy from the Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública.

I am the head of the Terminology and Medicine line at IULA and the IULAMED Portal. I have supervised 10 doctoral theses, two in co-supervision with French universities and six in co-direction. I have been directing the Pompeu Fabra Chair since 2022.
