Projects

2021-2025 Microdiachrony in endangered languages across modalities (MICRODIAC(H)RO)
This project focuses on two endangered languages in different modalities: Catalan Sign Language (LSC, Catalonia) and Griko (Italiot- Greek variety of Salento, Southern Italy).

2016-2020: The Grammar of Reference in Catalan Sign Language (LSC)
This project aims at covering a whole domain of Catalan Sign Language (LSC) grammar that is still poorly understood for the most part or only partially addressed: reference.

2016-2020: SIGN-HUB-Preserving, researching and fostering the linguistic, historical and cultural heritage of European Deaf signing communities with an integral resource
The European project SIGN-HUB aims at providing the first comprehensive response to the societal and scientific challenge resulting from generalized neglect of the cultural and linguistic identity of signing Deaf communities in Europe.

2013-2015: Clause combining in sign languages: the grammar of complex sentences in Catalan Sign Language in a crosslinguistic and crossmodal perspective (ClauseCombiSL2)
Clause combining, i.e. the grammatical mechanisms that integrate clauses into bigger sentential units, has received little attention to date in sign languages (SLs). This project builds and expands on the previous one, ClauseCombiSL1.

2011-2015: Unraveling the grammars of European sign languages: pathways to full citizenship of Deaf signers and to the protection of their linguistic heritage (COST Action IS1006)
Language policies for signing deaf Europeans require reliable reference grammars of their sign languages (SLs), which are generally lacking or of limited validity if they exist.
