Núria Almiron at Vectors 2024

Paper: "Animal Suffering and Public Relations (or Propaganda)"

On April 18, 2024, Núria Almiron was the opening keynote speaker at the online Critical Animal Studies section of the Vectors Conference with the talk "Animal Suffering and Public Relations (or Propaganda".

Her talk, "Animal Suffering and Public Relations," summarized the ideas in the chapters of Animal Suffering and Public Relations (Routledge, 2024) that she co-authored, by explaining why the animal-industrial complex's public relations are mostly manipulative and in some cases even propagandistic in nature.

Vectors was hosted by the Moscow School of the Social and Economic Sciences –also known as Shaninka in honor of its founder, the sociologist, and pioneer of contemporary peasant studies, Teodor Shanin.
