• Contact hours and type of course: 60 hours of class + 40 hours of independent study.
• Modality: most editions are offered online via live sessions, but there are some editions that are face-to-face.
• Location: Ciutadella Campus.
• ECTS credits: Up to 6 RAC credits according to the current legislation. By obtaining a passing grade, undergrad UPF students can be awarded 6 RAC credits (except for Translation and Interpreting and Applied Languages students, who cannot obtain credits for this course). To obtain credits for extracurricular activities, you will need to send the certificate to PIE or the secretary of your studies.
• UPF Certificate: UPF certificate with level CEFR consolidated.
• Who can enroll on this course: Anyone above the age of 18.

Course objectives

This course will provide you with the necessary resources to consolidate level C2 CEFR and on successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a C2 level UPF certificate.

Furthermore, this course will help you to take the official exam CIFALC with self-confidence. CIFALC exams allow you to obtain a C2 level certificate in Catalan Language approved by the Direcció General de Política Lingüística.

Course requirements

In order to enrol on the course, you must demonstrate you have the previous level (C1.2 CEFR) by:

• taking a level test virtual and free
• sending a certificate to [email protected]

Please remember that if you studied the secondary school in Catalan from 1991 onwards, you can ask for your C1 level certificate at your high school.

Fee: €395

• CIFALC official exam fee is not included. The fee includes teaching, the material necessary to follow the course fee. However, UPF Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), are entitled to a €100 reduction (course fee €295), as the University subsidises this training so that its Teaching and Research Staff can achieve proficiency level in Catalan. (Maximum of 10 subsidies this academic year.)
• Idiomes UPF reserves the right to cancel any course wich does not reach the minimum number of participants (13). In such cases, the full course fee will be reimbursed. Once the minimum number of participants required to open the group has been reached, we will send you an email with the full course details (room, coursebook, teacher, etc.)
