During the years of the Communication Doctoral Programme, a series of compulsory academic activities (AF1, AF2, AF3 and AF4) and voluntary activities (AF5) must be carried out:

Description of Academic Activities

Period

AF1 - Basic training courses

Duration: 40 hours.

Objectives: To introduce first-year students to the research lines of the Department's research groups; to provide students with the basic training necessary for developing their doctoral thesis; and to generate a space for exchange between the nine students and the rest of the doctoral programme community.

1st year

1st trimester

AF2 - Seminar for presenting and discussing doctoral thesis projects

Duration: 10 hours.

Objectives: To elaborate a first version of the thesis project and present it to the corresponding research group; to present and debate this first version and improve its scientific formulation.

1st year

2nd trimester

AF3 - Specific training courses

Duration: 40 hours.

Objectives: To carry out various specific training activities of interest for the doctoral research: conferences, symposia and debates organized by the university itself or by scientific and academic institutions.

1st, 2nd, 3rd year

1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester

AF4 - Seminar on mobility experiences

Duration: 20 hours.

Objectives: To present and exchange experiences and results, including stays at other universities and research centres, as well as attend national and international conferences of reference.

3st year

1st or 3rd trimester

AF5 - Activities chosen by the students

Students can accredit educational activities external to the doctoral programme, chosen out of interest for their academic training.
