A. Data mining of Planetary Wellbeing concepts in teaching and research at Universitat Pompeu Fabra

We offer research assistantship positions to students enrolled in UPF master programs of the ICT Department, such as in the MIIS or CSIM. In the positions, co-supervised by the UPF Planetary Wellbeing centre and the TIDE research group of the ICT Department, a team of master students (2-3) will apply data mining techniques and automatic classifiers to enhance the understanding of the interrelation between the consideration of Planetary wellbeing concepts (e.g., the Sustainable Development Goals, climate and heath, …) and the design of the UPF teaching (study programs, course plans) and research (scientific papers).

The positions are offered to highly motivated students, to join our team in interdisciplinary applications of ICT. The selected students need to have a computer science or ICT engineering background and high interest in applying Artificial Intelligence techniques to tackle problems with social impact. Good level of English is required. Catalan/Spanish is useful but not mandatory. 

Tentative conditions: 15h/week, about 540-600 EUR per month (3+6 months).

B. Learning technology research at Universitat Pompeu Fabra

We offer research assistantship positions to students enrolled in UPF master programs of the ICT Department, such as in the MIIS or CSIM. Tasks will be framed in the context of the Interactive and Distributed Technologies for Education (TIDE) research group https://www.upf.edu/web/tide. The team has currently twenty members and their research lies at the intersection of ICT and education. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate in tasks associated with ongoing research projects (data analytics, technology-oriented workshops for children, educational tools design and development, … -depending on candidate’s skills and TIDE projects), with the potential to become related to the MSc thesis (TFM). The position is offered to a highly motivated student, to join our team in interdisciplinary learning technologies research. Both backgrounds in Engineering/ICT (with interest in Education) or in Education (or similar, with interest in ICT) are welcome. Good level of English is required. Spanish or/and Catalan is desired but not mandatory.

Tentative conditions: to be agreed 10-20h/week, e.g. if 12h/week 430-480 EUR per month (3+6 months).
